I have not used these needles yet, but my granddaughter embroidered with Perle thread, size 8, around the handle of a Boho Bag she made. Easy to thread thicker thread; did the job great.

I use this needle for anything I do with chunky thread, such as hand quilting or hand binding with a running stitch or any chunky thread embroidery. It's a thicker needle, easier to hold and much longer.
