100 wt. 2-ply polyester thread. Designed for quilting and applique. MicroQuilter is a 100 wt. 2-ply extra-fine polyester thread designed for invisible machine applique, detail quilting, and stitch in the ditch. It is an extremely fine thread that can be sewn with a very small needle, rendering the thread virtually invisible. MicroQuilter is noticeably strong, especially considering its thin diameter and is the preferred thread for micro stippling and miniatures. MicroQuilter can be used on home machines and longarm machines and is available on 3,000 yd. cones and 800 yd. spools.

  • Color: Gray

  • Made of: Polyester
  • Recommended Use: Quilting and applique
  • Thread Weight: 100wt, 2 ply

Melanie's note:

  • I use a milliners needle to hand sew with this thread.  The milliner's needle has a very small eye making the thread much less likely to slip out.
  • I use this thread
    • hand sewing binding the traditional way
    • in my bobbin when free motion quilting
    • occasionally as a top thread when free motion quilting
    • for all topstitching when I want the thread to not be as noticeable
    • for hand sewing on my quilt labels
    • for almost all applique work

My first time using this, even though it's thin and fine was actually easy to work with.

Haven't used this yet, but I think anything Melanie uses must be of great quality. Looking forward to making A Dresden Quilt and the HappyFolk quilt pattern and using this thread.

    Great for my Dresdens!

I bought this after it was recommended to top stitch my dresden blades. The colors makes it blend in to any background color. Love this!
